Mental Health CoP Webinar on WHO HIV Guideline

The WONCA Working Party on Mental Health invites family doctors and primary care colleagues to join the inaugural session of its new Community of Practice. This first webinar will look at the updated World Health Organization guideline on HIV service delivery, with a focus on integrated care and what it means for clinical practice.

The session will feature Dr Nathan Ford from the World Health Organization, who will present the updated guidance. The guideline recommends integrating services for hypertension, diabetes and mental health, including depression, anxiety and substance use, into HIV care. It also includes updated recommendations on adherence support interventions that improve viral suppression and broader health outcomes.

Dr Ford will be joined by Dr Stephen Engmann and Dr Mercy Wanjala, recent graduates of the WONCA Integrated Care Leadership and Advocacy Program. They will share reflections on the guideline and discuss its relevance for family medicine and primary care.
