WONCA East Mediterranean Region Conference 2025 Program
The full program for the WONCA East Mediterranean Region Congress 2025 is now live! This year’s event will take place from May 8 to 11 at the Hilton Houara Hotel in Tangier, Morocco, hosted by MG Maroc alongside their 15th National Congress of General Medicine. Under the theme "Digital Horizons in Medical Education and Healthcare," the program brings together a wide range of expert sessions, dynamic workshops, and vibrant social events.
Spanning three full days, the program offers over 30 workshops, sessions led by renowned regional and international speakers, and an exciting lineup of social activities. Key highlights include a dedicated Young Doctors Session on the first day, covering topics like antidepressant use in general medicine and AI in community health.
One of the standout features of the program is the special joint WONCA-WHO session on Friday afternoon, focusing on the essential role of family medicine in transforming primary care. Speakers include Dr Karen Flegg (Australia), Dr Abdulaziz Al-Mahrezi (Oman), and Pr Said Saleh Souleiman (Egypt).
The program also welcomes speakers from across the region and beyond, including Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and France, offering diverse perspectives on topics such as geriatrics, endocrinology, emergency medicine, and AI applications in general practice.
The scientific agenda includes everything from practical hands-on sessions in ultrasound and dermatology, to plenary talks on planetary health and holistic care. The workshops promise to be highly interactive, with a focus on everyday challenges faced by family doctors, from ECG interpretation to managing emergencies with limited resources.
