New IAGG e-TRIGGER Course for Asia-Oceania Region Starting 18 January 2025

Following the success of the Africa, Middle East, and Europe e-TRIGGER course that commenced in November 2024, WONCA is delighted to announce the launch of the Asia-Oceania (ASIO) e-TRIGGER course starting 18 January 2025. This internationally recognized training program in gerontology and geriatrics is a collaborative effort between WONCA and the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG).

The IAGG e-TRIGGER initiative is dedicated to providing high-quality educational training worldwide, emphasizing cultural relevance and interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants will gain up-to-date knowledge in geriatrics and gerontology, delivered by leading experts, and learn to critically assess information to apply it in their unique clinical, cultural, and societal contexts.

Special Discounts for WONCA Members

  • 90% Discount: Available to the first 10 WONCA direct members who sign up. Members must also be part of the Speical Interest Group on Ageing & Health. Click here to join the SIG.
  • 15% discount: WONCA direct members from these geographic regions receive a 15% discount on the e-TRIGGER course.
  • Health professionals and students from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) are encouraged to apply for scholarships, with final fees ranging between 50–150 CHF, depending on the country. Additional scholarships are available for the first 10 applicants from the Ageing & Health SIG.

Course Details

The e-TRIGGER (E-Training in Gerontology and Geriatrics) program runs for 12 months and includes a series of expert-led sessions on vital topics such as cardiovascular diseases, dementia, mental health, and long-term care. Each session is interactive and tailored to address regional challenges and opportunities.

The course is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) for 60 CEUs and is also recognized by the Health Professionals Council of South Africa, with potential for recognition in other regions.

How to Register

Register in early December to secure your place in the January 2025 ASIO course. Applications are open to participants from all regions, though course content will be particularly relevant for those practicing in Asia-Oceania. Sessions are recorded and available for offline learning, providing flexibility for busy professionals.
